Sh47.4m was raised for the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary by city Tyres.
The money which was raised from motor sport 4×4 Chimp Challenge organised recently was for the Ngamba sanctuary on Lake Victoria, home for over 40 orphaned chimpanzees confiscated by Uganda Wildlife Authority and other partners from poachers and traders.
A cheque from the proceedings was recently handed over to the executive director of Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust Lilly Ajarova and tourism, Trade and Industry Minister Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire.
