NATIONAL PARKS ACCOMMODATIONS TO DOUBLE

Accommodation facilities both within and outside National parks are expected to double, as more than 20 sites are being developed in different national Parks in the country,
Two concessions in the Murchison Falls National Park are expected to be completed soon, with Pakuba, expected to be complete by 2010, while Chobe is expected to be ready this year.

Katurum and Apoka camp Kidepo National Park are to be re-developed and developed, Sebitole in Kibale National Park, a sanctuary to chimpanzees and elephants, is also to be developed. Another accommodation facility at Ruhija is to be developed in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a habitat to the globally-endangered mountain gorillas and UWA camps in Ishasha, which is located near the DR Congo border, are to be improved to medium accommodation.

Mosa Courts and Adrift have also started developing investments near Queen Elizabeth National Park the executive director of UWA, Moses Mapesa said that private investors had responded to the need to invest in the protected areas and were constructing lodges and safari camps, which was the best way forward to tourism development in the country.
