TOURIST CENTERS TO BE IMPROVED

30 first-class hotels are to be built in Uganda tourist attraction areas including national parks and other tourist centres in order to improve tourism standards.
According to Tourism minister Serapio Rukundo, Uganda received only 800 tourists last year, and this has forced the Government to build and re-develop tourism areas and attractions.
This was during a meeting with Italian tour operators from Sunny Travel agency at the Kampala Serena Hotel recently.
In a bid to improve tourism, he said the government had already identified the targeted areas for the project, adding that local investors were encouraged to participate in the venture.
