AN 8 DAY HIKING SAFARI
ON MOUNTAIN ELGON
Day 1
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Transfer to Victoria
Hotel; a hotel with country style building overlooking Lake
Victoria - the second largest fresh water lake in the world.
If you arrive early, you can have an optional visit to the
Zoo and the Botanical gardens of Entebbe.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Victoria Hotel (BB).
Day 2
After breakfast, depart by road for Jinja via Kampala Uganda's
capital city. From its humble beginning to present day, old
Kampala hill has extended to sit on more than ten hills. Continue
having a stop over at Mabira Forest for an interesting forest
walk; here you will be able to see the primates, birds and
butterflies. You will continue to the source of the Nile.
This is a spot where John Speke first discovered the source
of the Nile River. You will continue to Jinja Nile Resort/Sunset
hotel where you will be staying. In the early evening, you
will relax by the side of the swimming should you wish or
go to Bujagali Falls where different cultural activities take
place like Acrobatic, Dances, waterfalls.

Day 3
Jinja is popularly known as the industrial Centre. It is Jinja
that harbours the Hydro Electric Power station that serves
the county's population with its electricity requirements.
A visit to the source of Victoria Nile and the Bujagali Falls
makes your day. After lunch, continue to Mbale - the 3rd largest
city in Uganda. Situated along a low ridge at the foot of
a volcanic mountain - Mt. Nkokonjeru, which is part of the
waterfalls, combined with the evergreen cultivated slope forms
a very attractive background that captures your attention.
Overnight at the Mt. Elgon Hotel/Wash and Wills hotel (FB).
Day 3
After breakfast, you will depart for Mt Elgon National Park
in Eastern Mbale. Check in at Lacam Lodge and have lunch before
taking a late afternoon hike to the falls.

Day 4
Take breakfast and then resume the hike following the Kapkwata
Trail. A scenic hike through the bamboo, heath and moorland
gets you to the Piswa camp at 2850 meters. Breakfast, lunch
and dinner in the mountains.
Day 5
Trek up to the verge of the calderas through beautiful columns
of Lobelia Elgonensis. Visit Hot Springs and Suam Gorge before
descending to the hunters cave Camp 3850m
Day 6
Take breakfast and ascend to the top of the calderas to the
Wagagai Peak at 4321m. Descend thereafter through the Jackson
summit and the Jackson pool to overnight at Mude Camp 3500m.
Day 7
Early morning, descend through the Sasa trail to Budadiri
then travel to Mbale town. En route to Kampala for your departure.
Have the last Dinner and overnight at either Speke Hotel/Hotel
Africana in Kampala
Day 8
The clients may choose to visit places they didn't go to on
arrival. This may include the Uganda museum, Kasubi Tombs,
National Theatre to buy arts and crafts, and many more with
the help of our driver/ guide. But this will depend on your
time of departure. Later you will be transferred to the Airport
at your convenient time.
