ACCOMMODATION IN BWINDI

Bwindi has a number of accommodation Facilities to cater for all types of tourists.

Up market Accommodation

 

Gorilla Resort

is a luxury camp composed of a main lodge building with lounge, bar, restaurant and a suspended deck that features a campfire overlooking the rain forest.

Gorilla Forest Camp

is a luxury camp owned by Sanctuary lodges. The camp has flash toilets and solar power and secluded self contained walk-in-twin tents, protected beneath a thatch roof extending over a private deck.

Mantana tented camp;

made of self contained tents all have solar lighting, an eco-friendly toilet and a private verandah.

Volcanoes Bwindi Camp Bwindi Lodge
overlooks Bwindi forest, and is the perfect place to experience the magic of this impenetrable forest.

Budget and Camping

Buhoma Homestead;
It is a mid-range lodge operated by Wild Frontiers Uganda.

Lake Kitandara Camp;

Each tent is supplied with piped hot water, has a flushing toilet, a hand washing and bath tap, bath room mirror, towel rack and solar power with dining and reception.

ACCESS:

Kampala to Kabale is a 6-7 hours drive and covers a distance of 4140 km on bitumen surface. There is a bus from Kampala to Butogota, and Taxis for hire are available for about $15 form Butogota to Buhoma Park Headquarters. Kabale-Ruhija-Buhoma is 95 Km and takes about 3-4 hours. This road is not frequently used by the public. From Kabale to Buhoma Park Headquarters via Kanungu and Kanyantoroogo on murram surface, there is an additional 120 km which takes 3-4 hours. A 4WD vehicle is recommended.
